“A panel of judges comprised of past recipients evaluated the applicants for evidence of ethical standards of behavior, a steadfast reputation over time, policies to ensure ethics and truth were demonstrated in their sales advertising and how management practices promote integrity in the workplace.
“TorchAward recipients will reveal exceedingly high standards of behavior toward customers, employees and share holders; adhere to truthful advertising and sales practices; and, have a reputation for noteworthy contributions in their industry and community.
“Winners will be announced at the 2012 BBB Torch Awards Luncheon on Wednesday,May, 2nd at the Sheraton Waikiki.”

The Hawaii Group Volunteering at Lōkahi Back-to-School Telethon ’11

On Thursday, July 21, 2011, members of The Hawaii Group of and Hawaii Human Resources are honored to be volunteering at KHON2 headquarters for the annual Lōkahi Back-to-School Telethon. Every dollar raised will go toward purchasing school supplies for Hawaii’s keiki in need.

The Hawaii Group, HiEmployment, and President and CEO Matthew Delaney were featured in Hawaii Business magazine in November 2010. The feature focuses on the company’s formula for success in a down economy.
Hawaii Human Resources, or HiHR, has been growing steadily since its start in early 2009. A provider of human resource needs ranging from payroll to health benefits, HiHR recently tallied 118 clients on all major islands, representing more than 1,300 employees.
“Our business is growing rapidly because we enable companies to save money and stay in business,” says CEO Matthew Delaney, a CPA by training, with extensive experience in the hotel/resort business. “If we can do it cheaper and more efficiently … if we can take care of their back-office needs, they can focus on their core mission,” Delaney says.

Delaney also gives back to the community by championing causes such as Special Olympics, the Queen’s Health Systems, the Queen’s Medical Center, Queen Emma Land Co., the Outrigger Canoe Club, Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association, Hawaii Hotel Foundation and the Waikiki Improvement Association.
